President for 2010/11 - Dave King

Dave is a Heat Transfer Consultant in the Process & Process Safety Engineering Team of BP Exploration Operating Company.  He has worked in the refining, petrochemical, exploration, and production sectors for more than 35 years and is responsible for providing leadership in heat transfer across all sectors, which includes updating company engineering practices and challenging industry design practices.  Dave works with equipment vendors and engineering contractors to optimise the design of heat exchangers for major projects and continues to identify cost-effective solutions to heat exchanger restrictions on existing facilities.  He is actively involved in mentoring others and delivering heat transfer training courses, ranging from basic awareness up to advanced heat exchanger design and operation.  In 1998 he initiated formation of an international consortium to address crude oil fouling problems by sharing best practices.
